Hi, I'm Julie.

I’m a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, based in NYC.

Currently, I’m the Mission Tech Lead for Storytelling in Google Photos, where we use Generative AI to turn your photos and videos into the story of your life.

Previously, I was the Uber Tech Lead for the Google Cloud SDK, building the client libraries and command-line tools developers use to work on Google Cloud.

Before that, I spent five years on the Go team, leading Go Security and, earlier, Go Web and Discovery, where I created pkg.go.dev.

Prior to joining Google, I worked as the Engineering Manager for the Catalog Platform team at Spring, an e-commerce marketplace now part of ShopRunner.

I am also a proud alum of the Recurse Center (#nevergraduate) and passionate about supporting rising technical leaders, helping them build confidence, and find joy in their work. I believe that by empowering each other, we can create software that makes life better for everyone.
